Francis Pollara has earned the endorsement of La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board President Caroline Anderson and the unanimous support of the entire LCUSD Governing Board in his campaign for Pasadena City College Trustee, Area 1.

The endorsement underscores the importance of a strong relationship between La Cañada Unified School District and Pasadena City College and reflects the LCUSD Board’s confidence in Pollara’s experience, leadership, and vision for the future of PCC.

Anderson highlighted Pollara’s experience managing venture investments, advising on clean technology, and working with the City of Los Angeles to develop solutions to real-world challenges.

“Francis knows how to deliver results,” Anderson said. “He has the experience and vision to keep PCC strong, transparent, and focused on the future.”

For Pollara, the endorsement represents more than an important vote of confidence. It reflects a shared belief that Pasadena City College plays an important role in the educational future of students from La Cañada Flintridge and the broader Pasadena community.

A strong connection between local K–12 schools and Pasadena City College can help students make a smoother transition from high school to higher education, while expanding opportunities for dual enrollment, career education, workforce development, and transfer pathways.

“Caroline is someone who knows our community, understands our schools, and has earned the trust and respect of families across La Cañada,” Pollara said. “Her support—and the unanimous support of the entire LCUSD Board—means a great deal to me.”

Pollara’s candidacy also represents a unique connection to the community he hopes to serve.

If elected, Pollara would be the first Pasadena City College Trustee representing this district to have grown up in La Cañada Flintridge.

That personal history gives Pollara a perspective that is deeply connected to the students and families of the region.

“I know what it means to grow up here,” Pollara said. “I’ve walked in the shoes of the students PCC serves, and today I’m a parent raising children who will soon follow in my footsteps.”

That connection is central to Pollara’s vision for Pasadena City College: protecting the progress PCC has made while preparing the institution and its students for the future.

Pollara brings a career spanning entrepreneurship, business, public policy, investment, transportation innovation, and clean technology to his campaign for Pasadena City College Trustee Area 1.

He previously managed venture investments, founded and led businesses, advised organizations on climate and transportation technology, and worked with the City of Los Angeles on emerging transportation solutions.

He believes that experience can help PCC continue adapting to a rapidly changing economy while maintaining its focus on student opportunity and educational access.

Pollara’s priorities include fiscal stewardship, stronger pathways between K–12 schools and PCC, workforce and career education, dual enrollment, and preparing students for a future shaped by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

The unanimous endorsement from the LCUSD Governing Board adds to a growing coalition of community leaders supporting Pollara’s campaign for Pasadena City College Trustee.
